S3-Plus study is being conducted among those who identify themselves as MSM or transgender women (TGW) and reside in Chennai city or Tamil Nadu. These online surveys will help us to understand the stressors experienced by you due to your sexual or gender minority status and due to COVID-19. It will also help us to understand the impact of these stressors on HIV risks and access to healthcare services. This study is led by Dr. Aleena Sebastian from the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bengaluru, in collaboration with Centre for Sexuality and Health Research and Policy (C-SHaRP), Sahodaran and Thozhi in Tamil Nadu. It is funded by the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI). S3-Plus study is an extension of the DBT Wellcome Trust India Alliance funded study called ‘Stigma, Syndemics and Sex’ (S3) led by Dr. Venkatesan Chakrapani, MD, PhD (C-SHaRP, Chennai) in which some of you must have participated around three months ago. New participants are welcome to attend the survey if you are willing and meet certain eligibility criteria. All eligible participants need to complete the online survey two times: One survey now and the second survey at three months from the first survey. The survey may take around 30 minutes to complete. Your participation in this survey is voluntary.
